ABOUT YOUR NAIL FUNGUS TREATMENT
The Q-SWITCH Nd:YAG Laser has been designed to deliver laser-light pulses that penetrate the nail and kill fungal spores with little to no discomfort. The laser overheats the fungal material, leading to fungal cellular damage and death to the spores. Repeat sessions are essential to eradicate all fungi spores that may bloom after your initial treatment. However, significant improvement is usually seen within three weeks of just one treatment.
- There is no recovery time with this nail fungus treatment.
- The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes – all ten toes are lasered to prevent future self-infections.
- Most people feel no pain, although some people feel a warming sensation.
- To achieve optimal results, we recommend a series of 3 – 4 treatment sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
- It takes 6-12 months to grow your nail from the matrix to the top of your nail bed.

AFTER CARE AND PREVENTION
Careful steps must be taken to avoid re-infection such as:
- Apply the nail balm you purchased after your treatment, daily.
- Treat shoes & skin with anti-fungal agents.
- Kill fungus on footwear by placing it in a sealed plastic bag in deep freeze for 2 days.
- Keep your nails trimmed and clean.
- Wear flip flops in public places.
- Sanitize all stainless nail instruments by boiling in water for minimum 15 minutes.
- Use anti-fungal powder if your feet sweat excessively.
- Avoid wearing the same pair of socks and footwear on consecutive days.
- Avoid salons where equipment and instruments not properly sanitized.
- Book your second treatment after 4 weeks and a follow up treatment in the 3rd month if necessary.
